Vitamin D for better Calcium absorption, strong bones and strong egg shells
In both chickens and adult poultry calcium is needed for the development of the skeleton. In layers calcium is also needed for the production of the egg shell. In case of calcium deficiency layers will mobilize calcium form the bones in order to produce a good quality egg shell. This leads to fragile bones and leg problems. So it is important that the birds manage to absorb enough calcium for bone development and egg shell production. Vitamin D3 plays an important role in the absorption of calcium in the intestine. Lack of vitamine D3 will cause hypocalcemia, rickets and osteomalacia. Chickens do not move and articulations are swollen. The quality of the egg shell decreases.
D-Fizz is composed of 2 forms of vitamin D3: cholecalciferol and stabilized 25-hydroxycholecalciferol.
